56 - FORM The Goods Shed
OPENING HOURS: Saturday 11th November 9am-3pm
Sunday 12th November 9am-3pm
ADDRESS: Corner of Claremont Crescent and Shenton Road
Still on track, 120 years on
Built in the mid-1880s, The Goods Shed is part of Claremont Station’s original infrastructure. Its latest incarnation, under the stewardship of cultural organisation FORM, showcases this building of durability and charm but also as a place of real versatility.
The Goods Shed is an amalgam of creative project space, coffee hang-out, and exhibition and learning facility. Respectfully and imaginatively restored with many original features intact, this old freight shed now functions as Perth’s newest cultural hub, and has also just won the Heritage Award in the 2017 Australian Institute of Architects WA Architecture Awards.
Artists on residency with FORM will also be working in the space over this weekend, giving visitors an opportunity to learn more about FORM and its work across regional Western Australia.
