OPENING HOURS: Saturday 11th November 10am-5pm

This striking white masonry box with carefully composed deeply recessed windows was designed and built as a showroom for furniture designer David Foulkes-Taylor by architect Julius Elischer. Completed in 1965, only a year before the death of Taylor, the building was purchased by the Institute of Architects in 2005 and now houses both the Institute and the Architects Board of WA. The building's deeply recessed windows are thought to be significantly influenced by Le Corbusier's famous chapel at Ronchamp.
