UWA IQX - NEDLANDS MASONIC HALL
Sunday 11th November: 10am - 5pm
4 Broadway, Nedlands, 6009
Self Guided + Guided
The building was specially designed for the use of the Western Australian Masons in 1935. The Hall was sold to UWA in 1997. Through adaptive reuse the building has recently undergone a major renovation and is now the home of UWA IQX – a co-working space that offers facilities and networks that connect innovation with industry.
Originally designed by Architect William G. Bennett, a well known for his Art Deco Architecture, including the Raffles Hotel and Plazza Theatre and Arcade. The ground floor was a public dance hall with dining room and kitchen. The second floor is the Masonic Temple used for meetings of the Freemansons.
