St Columba's Church is in an iconic setting overlooking the Swan River & City skyline. The foundation stone was laid on Dec 13, 1936 and the Church was blessed and opened on April 11, 1937. The Church is noted for its exquisite Dublin made stained glass windows from the studios of renowned Irish craftsman Harry Clarke, and feature St Columba, St Brigid and St Patrick.
The Parish has a link with the World War 1 through parishioners serving in far off battlefields. Fr Denis Brennan, second Parish Priest from 1925-1933, prior to that he volunteered to serve as a Chaplain and served at Gallipoli from where he was evacuated in December 1915 and retired from the Army in 1919 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Prayers in thanksgiving for the Remembrance Day and for those who died serving their country and as war-time casualties will be offered on the day. All are welcome.
