Originally operating as Moana Café and acknowledged in 1912 as “the finest building of its kind in the Commonwealth” (architecturally), the site was later abandoned before becoming Moana Chambers in 2012 by Post Architects as part of the City of Perth’s Upper Floor Activation project.
The site now offers collaborative space for up to 25 creative professionals, a gallery and café. Using high quality materials and a clever breakup of spaces, Moana Chambers is a great example of heritage adaption where a new interior actively enhances the existing historical fabric. The Moana Chambers project showcases the potential of the city’s under - utilsed sites and is a reminder our ability to transform them into exciting destinations.
