Founded in 1894, the Karrakatta Club is a private club for women with interests in art, business, literature, music, science and social concerns. It is the oldest women's club in Australia. The club's motto is Spectemur Agendo, which means "let us be judged by our actions", and aims for community improvement through involvement in local issues affecting women. A member of the Australian Association of Lyceum Clubs, the Club offers regular guest speakers, special luncheons and activities and has a number of
special interest circles . The Club also offers licenced dining facilities, sitting rooms and accommodation for local and international members. An iconic WA "institution" we recommend a visit to the Karrakatta Club to celebrate WA's past, present and future.
