The Bell Tower
Sunday 12th November
Barrack Square/ Riverside Drive, Perth
Officially opened in December 2000, the Bell Tower is a purpose built 82.5m high copper and glass campanile designed to house 12 bells donated from St Martin-in-the-Fields church, London, as part of the 1988 national Bicentennial celebrations. The bells are dated pre-14th century. Six additional bells were cast from locally mined metals.
Designed in response to its waterside location, the Bell Tower has become an icon for the city of Perth, and with the advent of Elizabeth Quay will become a cornerstone in WA’s most prominent riverside precinct.
